What services do you offer?At SSU we’re artists who tattoo, paint sculpt and teach. We create custom original tattoos, bespoke cover-ups, work with the community within the arts, do commissioned paintings, murals, sculptures and workshops.
How do I get started?Please fill in our contact form HERE and we’ll be in touch within a week or two.
How do I prepare for a tattoo?Eat a healthy meal before coming in, bring a drink/non messy snacks, try and have a good rest the night before. Importantly, keep in mind your attire. Try to wear something loose and easy to access the area, open cardigans/zip up are excellent! Keep warm and avoid wearing your best clothes or white! Feel free to bring along whatever you feel will make you comfortable, for longer sessions you could bring a blanket, sleeping mask or sunnies, Earphones for your own music/entertainment.
How do I look after my fresh tattoo?Please refer to our detailed aftercare instructions HERE.
Do I need a deposit?No. We just ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.
What days are you open?Thursday - Sunday
10am-5pm
By appointment only.
Where are you located?We are located in Ferny Creek, Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia.
Do you take card?Yes! We take cash or card (card has a 2% surcharge)
Do I need a consultation?We require consultation for custom works, but for smaller designs it may not be necessary. These can be in person at the studio, or if you live far away/ interstate we can arrange a Zoom. We also provide a complimentary viewing session so you can see your artwork before the day of your tattoo appointment.
I'm not sure what I want but I love your work, are there any designs I can choose from?Yes! Please refer to our individual artists designs here:
How much do you charge?For custom Original work - $200 per hour.
For coverups - $300 per hour
Apprentice rates - Quoted per design.
Do I need I.D.?Yes, We do not tattoo under 18’s under any circumstances.
Do you do cover-ups?Yes! Whether or not it is doable depends on the existing tattoo. Consultation is a must to go through the options available to you. Please refer to our ‘fix and cover info’ for more details.
